How long does the student conversation take?
A typical OralExam.AI conversation takes 10 to 15 minutes. It’s designed to be thorough enough to assess genuine understanding without being burdensome. Students can complete it on their own time, and professors receive the report within minutes of completion.
What if a student has a speech impediment or is a non-native English speaker?
The AI is patient and adaptive. Students are not judged on fluency or eloquence. They are assessed on whether they understand the material. Professors receive the full transcript alongside all results, so they can apply their own judgment when a student’s communication style might not fully reflect their understanding.
Does this assign grades or replace instructor judgment?
No. OralExam.AI does not assign grades or render verdicts. It produces a detailed report, including an authenticity confidence score, a learning objectives score, and the full conversation transcript, so professors can make better, more confident decisions about authorship and understanding on their own terms.
Can students game the system by memorizing their paper?
Memorizing the paper is not enough. The AI generates personalized questions that probe for reasoning, connections between ideas, and understanding beyond what’s on the page. A student who only memorized their submission will hit a ceiling quickly. Two independent AI models review each conversation to further ensure integrity.
Is student data and course content secure?
